He is a cardiologist working at Lyell McEwin Hospital and SA Heart in Adelaide. Originally from Lahore and a University of Melbourne graduate, he now calls Adelaide home with his wife and two kids. A keen runner, he regularly takes part in the City–Bay Fun Run and enjoy promoting fitness and wellbeing in our doctors’ community.
Dr. Abdul Ahad Rana is an accomplished Australian-trained General and Colorectal Surgeon [Ongoing], with specialized expertise in colorectal surgery. He completed his general surgery training in South Australia and furthered his skills through dedicated colorectal fellowships in Edinburgh and at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide.
As an active member of the Pakistan Medical Association of South Australia (PMASA), Dr. Rana is committed to supporting the medical community and contributing to healthcare initiatives. He has also showcased his leadership and team spirit as the captain of the PMASA cricket team, promoting camaraderie and health within the community.

Dr. Nazim Abbas, a distinguished oncologist with experience in both private and public healthcare sectors, played a pivotal role as an internal collaboration coordinator in achieving the goals of our collaboration with Indus Hospital and Shaukat Khan Memorial Hospital and continues his efforts to initiate new collaboration in all aspects with other institutions of Pakistan. In his free time, he enjoys playing badminton
Hamza is an Anaesthesia Fellow currently working at the Lyell McEwin Hospital. Hailing from rural South Australia and a local graduate from The University of Adelaide, Hamza is due to complete his specialist training in 2026. His clinical interests include Regional Anaesthesia and Education. Outside of work, he pursues photography and retains his childhood interest in cricket.
Dr. Rehan has been practicing in Australia for the past 16 years, during which she has developed a strong reputation as a compassionate and dedicated healthcare professional. Her primary areas of interest include antenatal care, women's health, and paediatrics, where she has demonstrated a genuine commitment to improving the well-being of her patients and their families.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Afsheen Rehan serves as an RACGP CCE examiner, a role she has embraced for several years. This position allows her to evaluate and support the next generation of medical professionals, ensuring that they meet the high standards required in the field. Her involvement with various committees further reflects her dedication to advancing healthcare and contributing to the development of medical education and policy.
Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Rehan enjoys engaging in recreational activities that enrich her personal life. She is an avid badminton player, finding joy in the sport's competitive yet enjoyable nature. Additionally, she has a passion for cooking, often experimenting with new recipes and sharing meals with family and friends.

Dr. Ramsha Saleem is a dedicated General Practitioner at Ingle Farm Medical Centre, where she is passionate about delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. With a Master of Public Health from the University of Newcastle, Dr. Saleem brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice, particularly in women's health and preventive medicine.
Her holistic approach ensures that each patient receives tailored care that addresses their individual needs and concerns. Dr. Saleem is also an active member of the Pakistan Medical Association of South Australia, where she advocates for the health and well-being of the community. Dr. Amna Rauf brings a wealth of experience as a respected member within our medical and allied fraternity. Recognizing the need for revitalization in our event offerings, her prior appointment as Event Coordinator injected fresh energy into our signature gala and both events of 2024 and 2025 were a huge success. Keeping in view of her fresh ideas, she has now taken responsibility of our media coverage.
Dr. Abdul Qayyum Aslam is a distinguished founding member and the first president of the Pakistani Medical Association of South Australia (PMASA). Since the organization’s inception, he has been a vital presence and a source of guidance for members, leveraging his extensive experience as a veteran General Practitioner.
In 2023, Dr. Aslam graciously accepted the role of Chair for the Constitution Review Committee, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring that PMASA’s governing structure remains effective and relevant. He collaborates closely with the current committee, bringing his knowledge and leadership to this important task.
His insights are highly valued across various initiatives within PMASA, and members frequently seek his advice given his wealth of experience and dedication to the community.

Dr. Farooq Ahmad is one of the founding members of PMASA and a dedicated mentor to many International Medical Graduates (IMGs) currently working within the Australian healthcare system. Capturing his qualities in just a few sentences is challenging, but his contributions are noteworthy. He was the recipient of the McCleave Thompson Award from the RACGP in 2007 and serves as an examiner for both PESCI and RACGP CCE. Throughout his career, he has consistently offered support to those in need. We are particularly grateful for his kindness in chairing our signature scholarship fund.
